South Circle Drive
For your child's safety and the convenience of our bus
drivers, we ask that you not use the south circle drive to drop off or pick your
child up before or after school. We have a drive through area and ample parking
in our north parking lot and also on the west end of our building. A crossing
guard is on the north side of our campus each afternoon to ensure your child
leaves the building safely.
Thank you, Elementary Office

FROM THE COUNSELOR'S CORNER
The Guidance Lesson for all classes this month centered on the
Core Essential Word GRATITUDE. We are able to work in fun activities of
making (and eating) butter as we talked about showing GRATITUDE for the
people/things and acts of kindness others show us.
December's Core Essential word is GENEROSITY and making someone's day by
giving "something" away. The lesson will center on the best "something" is often
the giving of your time, your talent, your friendship, etc.. and not material
things. December seems to be the perfect time of the year for such a word.
BEST WISHES FOR A HAPPY HOLIDAY SEASON FOR EVERYONE!
Judy Williams,
School Counselor

Kinder Korner
On Thursday, November 20th, Kindergarten held their
Thanksgiving program at the High School. Ms. Scott's class played the part of
the Pilgrims, Mrs. Watson's class played the part of the Indians, and Mrs.
Wortham's class played the part of the Turkeys. We all had a great time and it
was a lot of fun for all involved. We would like to send out a special thanks to
Mrs. Ashworth who directed the play. We couldn't have done it without you.
December is going to be a very busy month for Kindergarten. We are planning our
annual field trip to the Dairy Queen to decorate their Christmas tree. The
students really enjoy this little field trip and it really gets us fired up for
the Holidays. In class we are going to study Christmas traditions and crafts
from around the world. We are also planning our Christmas musical on December
19th. Our Christmas party will be held after the musical. We hope you can join
us.
Happy Holidays
Joyce Scott, Sheri Watson, and Kristi Wortham

Head Lice Alert
Winter is approaching and it will be time to get out
our hats and scarves. Please discuss with your children the importance of not
sharing their hats or scarves with other students. This will help to stop the
spread of head lice. We are doing what we can at school, but if you could please
check your child*s hair frequently for any signs of lice or nits and take the
appropriate actions to remove all nits and bugs with a lice killing agent. If
you notice your child scratching their head this is usually a good sign that
they may have come in contact with head lice. Head lice cannot live on family
pets. They are wingless parasites that feed on human blood in order to survive.
They cannot fly or jump, they can only crawl. If you have any questions
concerning head lice, please contact me at (903)-587-2316 ext 230 or stop by my
office.
Immunization Health Clinic
Leonard ISD will be offering an immunization clinic on
December 17th, beginning at 9:30a.m. at the Leonard Junior High Commons Area. If
you have children that need immunizations, please bring them by. Please bring
your child*s current immunization record with you.
If you need your flu vaccine they will also be offering those as well.
Thank you,
Nancy Zachary, LVN
