Sometimes snowy conditions throw a wrench into the best-laid plans. That's what happened when the Leonard Jr. High Girls Basketball team planned their first Teacher Appreciation Night. After rescheduling the event to occur during break this week, those who were available showed up to honor the teachers. The event is meant to be celebrated during basketball appreciation events through pre-game ceremonies, where players honor educators who have made a significant impact on their lives. These events often include public recognition, in-person shout-outs, and sometimes specialized awards or gifts, emphasizing the bond between student-athletes and their mentors. Each teacher walked away with a player number pin for their lapel, including a sweet handwritten note about the impact the teacher has had on them.
